Abstract
Ottoman Armenians were subjected to relocation due to the internal security problem at the beginning of the First World War. The relocation event, brought along the discussions that has continued until today. Detailed studies were carried out on the military, demographic and administrative aspects of the Armenian relocation carried out by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. However, the Armenian deportation had also important results in terms of economy as well as its demographic, military and administrative aspects. However, there has not been a detailed study on the effects of relocation on the economy to date. With this study, firstly, it is aimed to determine the population of the Armenian in the district and their place in economy before the relocation inMerzifon district and to reveal the effects of relocation on the district population and economy. Based on the example of Merzifon, it is aimed to draw attention to the effects of Armenian relocation on the population and economy and to give a general idea.
