In recent years the issue of how to teach religion in schools is becoming an important agenda in national and international ground. The institutions like UNESCO, EC make efforts to support a religious education in line with democratic values which brings forth pluralistic approach. In these courses the following attitude is supported; the religious majority should see minority groups from a perspective that will not conceive them ?as others? . This new approach found its echo in the curriculum of religious education in Turkey. This paper deals with this pluralistic approach in religious education in Turkey, and discus whether the international concerns found their echo in these programs. When evaluated totally is can be seen that the curriculum and accordingly the course books now have a pluralistic character in teaching other religions that put emphasis on understanding others rather than judging them.
