This essay deals with Aşık Dertli’s religious understanding and beliefs on tevhid (oneness of God), creation, prophecy, hereafter, fate, humanbeing and life, depending on his religious-mystical poems which have a deep extension. Aşık Dertli is a sincere Muslim and an emotional folk poet that speaks about humanbeing, nature and universe. Dertli uses the verses of Qur’an directly or as a meaning in his poem which has an intensive religious and mystical content. Dertli is very closer to Ehl-i Sünnet faith in tevhid, şefaat, prophecy, hereafter World, humanbeing and destination, also he follows general principles of Islamic mysticism in his mystical approach. His poem includes some expressions that seem as like pantheism, as well as some narrative features of him reflect the understanding of “vahdet-i vücud”
