Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ilk Osmanlı popüler bilim dergisi olan Mecmû‘a-i Fünûn’un, 1864 tarihli 32. sayısında

yayınlanan, “Ormancılık Fenni” başlıklı Osmanlıca yazının, çevriyazısı ve sadeleştirmesini

sunulmaktadır. Makalenin yazarı, daha sonra 1893-1908 yılları arasında orman genel müdürü olmuş

Mehmet Nazif Bey’dir. Bu yazı, Osmanlı döneminde, ormancılık hakkında popüler bir bilim dergisinde

yayınlanan ilk makaledir. Makalede ormancılık biliminin tanımı yapılarak başlanmakta ardından bu

bilimin üç bölüme ayrıldığından söz edilmektedir. Birinci bölümün ağaçların ekim ve dikimiyle, ikinci

bölümün ormanların bakımı ile ilgilendiği, üçüncü bölümün konusunu ise ormanların korunması olduğu

belirtilmektedir. Orman oluşturmada zeminin konumu, toprağın türü ve ağaçların cinsinin önemli olduğu

vurgulandıktan

First Published Article About Foresty In Ottoman Turkish

Abstract

In this study, we are presenting transcription and simplicification of the first published article about

foresty written in Ottoman Turkısh. Title of the article is “Foresty Science” and the auther is Mehmet

Nazif Bey then became general manager of the forest between the years of 1893-1908 in Ottoman State.

This article was published in the first Ottoman popular scientific journal called Mecmû‘a-i Fünûn in

number 32 in 1864. This article about forestry is the first article published in a popular science magazin in

the Ottoman period. The article began by making the definition of forestry science is divided into three

parts this science, then it is said. Sowing and planting of trees with the first section, the second section

deals with the maintenance of the forest, which is the subject of the third section is stated that the

protection of forests. Forest floor in building location, the type of soil and the trees of the genus

mentioned as important factors affecting the ground after it is mentioned. The next sections of the article

has not been published.
