Abstract
This research aims to explain how the changing school environment and a “good school” concept are defined by the shareholders at present, and what kind of duties and responsibilities changing schools have started to take regarding global standards. The research was carried out on phenomenology design of qualitative research. The data were collected with semi-structured interview questions. The research included 8 participants, namely administrators, teachers, students and parents as school shareholders. The data were analyzed through descriptive and content analysis techniques. As a result, regarding participants responses, it was found that the schools have (been) changed into institutions that embrace the competition brought about by global changes, in which individuals focus on academic achievements solely, in which the integrative and socializing functions of schools disappear so that shareholders are desperate for the future.
