The experiment was established in split-plot desingn on three replications. Each species was seeded as monocropping and mixtures of 75% alfalfa + 25% smooth bromegrass, 50% alfalfa + 50% smooth bromegrass and 25% alfalfa + 75% smooth bromegrass into sub-plots. However four diferent gypsum aplications (0, 10 kg da-1, 20 kg da-1 and 30 kg da-1) were placed on main plots.
According to research results, mixture rates of species were found as statistically significant on green yield, hay yield, dry matter yield and crude protein yield. The highest yields were obtained the mixture of 25% alfalfa + 75% smooth bromegrass. In the mixtures while alfalfa ratio was higher on seeding, the ratio of smooth bromegrass was lower on harvest.
ÖZET: Bu çalışma da bir baklagil yem bitkisi olan yonca (Medicago sativa L.) ve buğdaygil yem bitkisi olan kılçıksız brom (Bromus inermis Leyss)'un farklı karışım oranlarına, artan miktarlarda jips uygulamalarının yem verimi ve verim komponentleri üzerine etkilerini incelemek amacıyla 2003 – 2005 yılları arasında, Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Araştırma Uygulama Çiftliğinde yürütülmüştür.
Deneme tesadüf bloklarında bölünmüş parseller deneme deseninde 3 tekerrürlü kurulmuştur. Türler yalın ekimleriyle birlikte, %75 yonca + %25 kılçıksız brom, %50 yonca + %50 kılçıksız brom ve %25 yonca + %75 kılçıksız brom olmak üzere 5 farklı karışım alt parsellere, 4 farklı jips uygulamaları ( 0, 10 kg da-1, 20 kg da-1, 30 kg da-1) ana parsel olacak şekilde ekim yöntemi uygulanmıştır
Araştırma sonuçlarına göre karışım oranlarının ve jips uygulamalarını; yeşil ot, kuru ot, kuru madde, ham protein verimine etkileri istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunmuştur. En yüksek verim değerleri %25 yonca + %75 kılçıksız brom karışımlarından elde edilmiştir. Yonca oranının ekimde fazla olduğu karışım parsellerinde hasattaki brom miktarlarında azalmalar olduğu görülmüştür.
Anahtar Kelimeler: Yonca, kılçıksız brom, jips, yeşil ot, kuru ot, ham protein verimi
Effects of Gypsum Apllication and Mixture Rates on Forage Yields of Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) and Smooth Brome (Bromus inermis Leyss)
ABSTRACT: In this study alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) which is legume forage species and smooth bromegrass (Bromus inermis Leyss.) which is forage grass were used in order to determine the effect of different species mixture rates and increasing levels of applied gypsum on yield and yield components between 2003 and 2005 at Ankara University Agricultural Faculty, Research Farm.
The experiment was established in split-plot design on three replications. Each species was seeded as monocropping and mixtures of 75% alfalfa + 25% smooth bromegrass, 50% alfalfa + 50% smooth bromegrass and 25% alfalfa + 75% smooth bromegrass into sub-plots. The highest yields were obtained the mixture of 25% alfalfa + 75% smooth bromegrass. In the mixtures while alfalfa ratio was higher on seeding, the ratio of smooth bromegrass was lower on harvest.
