Abstract
Thermopsis turcica, the endemic plant that belongs to fabaceae family, is only species that represents the type of Thermopsis in our country. Antioxidant effect of extracts obtained from plant Thermopsis Turcica is being aimed by this study. In the study, 3-4 months, weighing 250-350 g male Wistar albino rats were used in a total of 74. 64 of them were used to determine antioxidant activity, 10 of them were dose of ÖD50. Rats were divided into 8 groups and in each group there were 8 of them. The prepared extracts from the upper parts of the plant Thermopsis turcica that specified ÖD50 dose of about % 1, % 2 and % 4 in the rates , identified in the single daily doses which were based on groups, was performed simultaneously continued for 30 days by gastric gavage. At the end of the study , intracardiac blood, kidney and liver tissue samples were taken from the animals. From the samples, MDA, GSH, SOD, CAT and AOA levels were measured. The lethal dose 50 (ÖD50) ˃ 2000 mg/kg was found by ethanol and water extracts performance that were prepared from the upper parts of the plant Thermopsis turcica in the study. Lower values seen in whole blood MDA and were determined GSH low values in whole blood and tissue samples those were especially seen in aqueous extracts of the plant has positive effects on antioxidant effect. However, plasma AOA low values in both extracts caused an opinion about sufficient antioxidant effect didn’t occur.
