RESEARCHING THE DISTANCE EDUCATION TENDENCIES OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN THE COVID-19 PROCESS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the tendency of students to distance education with mandatory distance education in universities during the Covid-19 period. The data set used in the reseacrh consisting of a horizontal cross-section obtanied with the help of a questionnaire. The population of the study consists of 5574 students studying at public universities. In this study was used simple random sampling and stratified sampling method. Probit regression analysis was used to determine the sociodemographic and economic factors affecting the tendency of the students participating in the study to distance education. The result of the study demonstrated that tendency of university students towards distance education according to selected variables were statistically significant relationship. While tendency of students towards distance education were found to differ significantly based on some variables like gender, marital status, age, university location, place of residence and family average monthly income they did not differ significantly for department of the university, family place of residence and student monthly.

COVID-19 SÜRECİNDE ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN UZAKTAN EĞİTİM EĞİLİMİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı Covid-19 döneminde üniversitelerde zorunlu olarak verilen uzaktan eğitim ile öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitime eğilimini belirlemektir. Araştırmada kullanılan veri seti, bir anket yardımıyla elde edilen yatay kesitten oluşan bir nitel araştırma olarak tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini devlet üniversitelerinde öğrenim gören 5574 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, basit tesadüfi örnekleme ve tabakalı örnekleme yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitime eğilimini etkileyen sosyodemografik ve ekonomik faktörlerini belirlemek için probit regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda seçilen değişkenlere göre üniversite öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitime yönelimleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitime yönelik eğilimleri cinsiyet, medeni durum, yaş, üniversite yeri, ikamet yeri ve aile ortalama aylık geliri gibi bazı değişkenlere göre anlamlı farklılık gösterirken, üniversitenin teme bilim dalı, aile ikame yeri ve öğrencinin aylık harcaması için anlamlı farklılık belirlenmemiştir
