Abstract

TURKISH ADAPTATION OF THE CAREER SUSTAINABILITY SCALE

Year 2023, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 1119 - 1135, 02.08.2023

Abstract

In this study, the Turkish adaptation of the Career Sustainability Scale developed by Chin, Jawahar and Li (2021) is presented in order to determine the sustainability levels of the careers of the employees in the ever-changing working environment. As a result of the EFA applied to 402 white-collar employees between the ages of 18-65 in the health, education, informatics and energy sectors within the scope of the public and private sectors in Turkey, the items in the scale were grouped under 2 factors and the factor loads of the items ranged from 0.730 to 0.910. The total variance explained was calculated as 67%. According to the results of the CFA analysis, it was validated that the Turkish version of the Career Sustainability Scale (chi-square =105.153 df = 51, p <.001; CMIN/DF= 2.062; RMSEA = .73; NFI = 0.957; RFI = 0.945; IFI = 0.978) ; TLI = 0.971; CFI = 0.977), consisted of 12 statements with two factors. As a result of the findings, it was concluded that the Career Sustainability Scale is a measurement tool with proven validity and reliability.
