Health policies play an
important role in the social policies in which the dominant economic
understanding determines the form and content. In this context, social welfare
state practices have emerged within the Keynesian economic understanding.
Social welfare state practices prioritize equal and free provision of health
policies to all citizens from a single source as constitutional rights.
However, neo-liberal economics envisages abandoning the social welfare state
practices and conducting health policies under the regulation of the public
sector through the private-public and voluntary organizations. In this respect,
supranational organizations, especially the World Bank, which aims to spread
these policies on a global level, have played a key role in implementing the ‘’Health
Transformation Program’’ implemented
after 2003 in Turkey with financial support. Now it is up to the
political parties to adapt the party program and election declarations within
the framework of the Neo-liberal economy. Work in this direction with the
subject of similar and differing aspects of the political parties in Turkey to
assess the health policy.
