Abstract

In the face of increasing competitive pressures and tighter cost Controls accompanied by a reduction in hierarchies, organizations are no longer willing or indeed able to promise job security or promotion opportunities in the traditional sense.
This paper examines reengineering, its link with downsizing and its negative and positive effects on the quality of working life.
