Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı denetçinin mesleki şüpheciliğinin denetim kalitesine etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla, denetim süreci bir bütün olarak ele alınırken, bu süreçte mesleki şüpheciliğin denetimdeki önemi vurgulanmış, denetim kalitesinin sağlanması için gerekli ölçütler ve denetim kalite çerçevesi incelenmiştir.
Çalışmada, Kamu Gözetim Kurumu’ndan bağımsız denetim yetkilendirmesi almış olan ve fiilen bağımsız denetim yapan denetçilerden elde edilen veriler denetçinin mesleki şüpheciliğinin denetim kalitesine etkisinin ortaya çıkarılması için, Yapısal Eşitlik Modeli (YEM) tekniği ile incelenmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak, denetçilerin mesleki şüpheciliklerini tespit etmek için şüphecilik ölçeği ve denetçilerin denetim kalitesine ilişkin görüşlerini tespit etmek için denetim kalitesi sormaca formu kullanılmış ve veriler analiz edilerek yorumlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, araştırma hipotezleri kabul edilmiş ve denetçinin mesleki şüpheciliği ile denetim kalitesi arasında pozitif yönde ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Buradan denetçinin uygun ölçüde mesleki şüphecilikle davranmasının denetim kalitesini arttırdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
