Bilgi temelli sermaye olarak ifade edilen entelektüel sermaye işletmelerin bilançolarında görünmeyen maddi olmayan varlıklardan oluşmaktadır. İnsan sermayesi, yapısal sermaye ve müşteri sermayesi olarak üç bileşenden meydana gelen entelektüel sermaye ölçülebilir hale getirilerek işletmelere rekabet avantajı sağlamıştır. Çalışmada, Borsa İstanbul Sınai endeksinde yer alan 177 firmadan, 2008-2015 yılları verisine ulaşılabilen 102 firmanın entelektüel sermaye finansal performans ilişkisi, alt sektörler bazında ve panel veri analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, entelektüel sermayenin finansal performans üzerinde genel olarak olumlu bir etkiye sahip olduğu, sektör firmalarının insan sermayesine önem verdikleri fakat yapısal sermayenin işletmelerde yeterli düzeyde olmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
Intellectual or knowledge-based capital is an intangible asset that does not appear on the balance sheets. It consists of human, structural and customer capital components, is measurable, and has been providing a competitive advantage to businesses. In the study, the intellectual capital-financial performance relationship of 102 Borsa Istanbul Industrial Index companies with available data is analyzed on the basis of sub-sectors, by panel data analysis method, for the years 2008-2015. The results show that intellectual capital has a positive effect on financial performance, companies attach importance to human capital, but structural capital is not yet at a sufficient level in enterprises.

Authorship carries both credit and responsibility, and it is essential that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.
For multi-author studies, the Contributions of Authors must be declared after the conclusion and before the bibliography of the paper. The authors' initials and last names should be used to indicate which author contributed to which part of the manuscript. Details can be found by clicking the “Article Submission Checklist” button. The authors can acknowledge contributions that do not merit authorship.
The author(s) should disclose the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools in design and implementation of the research.
