Dystopias regarded as canons today appeared largely in the first half of the twentieth century. The two world wars, the emergence of mass destruction weapons and oppressiondomination tools played an important role in this. Dystopic narratives have been mostly expressed through novels, comics, television and cinema productions until today. Likewise, dystopic narratives conveyed through these channels have been analyzed on the academic level. Unlike classical dystopias, critical dystopic narratives, which can be considered as a new genre, offer different perspectives to the readers with lights of hope and solution possibilities they contain. Critical dystopias can be likened to dystopias as they present a universe full of oppression and domination. Likewise, critical dystopias carry some traces of utopias because they convey the message that it is possible to escape from the oppression. The popularity of video games increases day by day as they provide the opportunity to interact and be directly involved in the story. Besides, they also provide a suitable ground for critical dystopias, allowing their players to determine the end of the story. In this study, through the game Orwell Keeping an Eye On You developed by Osmotic Studios, the narrative possibilities offered by video games for critical dystopias are examined through the narrative analysis method. In conclusion, with reference to the game, it was observed that video games have the potential to provide a suitable narrative ground for critical dystopias.
