Amaç: Bu çalışmada, Mersin Üniversitesi’ndeki
üniversiteli ergenlerin madde kullanım sıklığının ve ilişkili faktörlerin
değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Yöntem: Kesitsel
tipteki çalışma, Eylül 2015-Mayıs 2016 tarihleri arasında Mersin
Üniversitesi’nde yapıldı. Araştırmada minimum örneklem büyüklüğü; evren 21230,
prevalans %50, ±%3 hata ve %95 güvenilirlik aralığında 1017 kişi olarak
hesaplandı. Çalışmaya 1100 öğrenci alınmasına karar verildi. Çalışma verisini
öğrencilerin, kapaklı dosyalarda kendileri doldurup kapalı zarflarla teslim
etmeleri sağlandı. Mersin Üniversitesi Klinik Araştırmalar Etik Kurulu’ndan etik
kurul izni alındı. Veri analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Ki-kare Testi,
Mann Whitney U Testi ve İkili Lojistik Regresyon Analizi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması
18,9±0,1 yıl ve 771’i (%72,8) meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim görmekteydi.
Öğrencilerin 715’inin (%67,7) tütün ürünü, 594’ünün (%56,3) alkol ve 39’unun
(%3,7) ise madde denediği belirlendi. Madde türleri içinde en çok kenevir ve
türevlerinin (%96,7) denendiği saptandı. Madde deneme ile ilişkili risk
faktörlerinin evde tek başına veya arkadaşıyla kalma (OR=2,43), ailesiyle
genelde anlaşamama (OR=3,56), okulda kavgaya karışma (OR=2,88) ve alkol deneme
(OR=4,29) olduğu belirlendi.
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence
of substance use and related factors among university adolescents at Mersin University. Methods: A cross-sectional study was
conducted between September 2015 and May 2016 at Mersin University. The minimum sample size was; universe
21230, prevalence 50%, ± 3% error and 95% confidence interval was calculated as
1017 people. It was decided to recruit 1100 students. It was ensured that
the students filled out the data them selves in closed files and delivered them
in closed envelopes. Ethics committee approval was obtained from Mersin University
Clinical Research Ethics Committee. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square test,
Mann Whitney U test and Binary Logistic Regression Analysis were used for data
analysis. Results: The mean age of
the students was 18,9 ± 0,1 years and 771 (72,8%) of them were attending
vocational schools. It was determined that 715 (67,7%) of the students tried
tobacco products, 594 (56,3%) of alcohol and 39 (3,7%) of them tried substance.
Cannabis and its derivatives (96,7%) were found to be the most common substance
types. The risk factors associated with substance experimentation were staying
at home alone or with friends (OR=2,43), bad relations with family (OR=3,56),
joining in a fight at school (OR=2,88), and alcohol try (OR=4,29). Conclusion: Students who stay at home
alone or with friends, who have bad relations with family who are joined in a
fight at school and who try alcohol should be considered as risky groups in
terms of substance trying, and preventive health services should be provided to
these groups more strongly.
