Aim: This research was carried out to determine the effects of socio-demographic characteristics and eating attitudes of nursing students on orthorexia nervosa. Method: The universe of the descriptive study consisted of all students studying at the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences at KSU. The sample consisted of 164 students who agreed to participate in the research. Data were collected via Google form using an introductory questionnaire, eating attitude scale and ortho-15 scale. Results: It was determined that 58.5% of the students participating in the study had regular eating habits, 70.7% of them skipped meals, the average of the eating attitude scale score was 37.98 ±3.46, and the average of the Ortho-15 scale score was 37.97±3.45. Conclusion: It was determined that the body mass index of the students was in the normal range, but the risk of eating behavior disorder was high and their susceptibility to orthorexia nervosa was normal.
Amaç: Bu araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin sosyo-demografik özellikleri ve yeme tutumlarının ortoreksiya nevrozaya etkisinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte yapılan araştırmanın evrenini KSÜ Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören tüm öğrenciler oluşturdu. Örneklemi ise araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 164 öğrenci oluşturdu. Veriler Google form aracılığıyla tanıtıcı anket formu, yeme tutumu ölçeği ve orto-15 ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %58.5’inin düzenli yemek alışkanlığının olduğu, %70.7’sinin öğün atladığı, yeme tutumu ölçek puanı ortalamasının 37.98 ±3.46, Orto-15 ölçeği puan ortalamasının ise 37.97±3.45 olduğu belirlendi. Sonuç: Öğrencilerin beden kitle indeksinin normal aralıkta olduğu ancak yeme davranış bozukluğu riskinin yüksek olduğu, ortoreksiya nevrozaya yatkınlıklarının da normal olduğu belirlendi.

MEU Journal of Health Sciences Assoc was began to the publishing process in 2008 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Gönül Aslan, Editor-in-Chief, and affiliated to Mersin University Institute of Health Sciences. In March 2015, Prof. Dr. Caferi Tayyar Şaşmaz undertook the Editor-in Chief position and since then he has been in charge.
Publishing in three issues per year (April - August - December), it is a multisectoral refereed scientific journal. In addition to research articles, scientific articles such as reviews, case reports and letters to the editor are published in the journal. Our journal, which has been published via e-mail since its inception, has been published both online and in print. Following the Participation Agreement signed with TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Dergi Park in April 2015, it has started to accept and evaluate online publications.
