The main purpose of this study is to examine the occupational anxiety of teacher candidates in terms of several variables. The research is designed with the survey model. The population of the research is 790 teacher candidates attending the faculty of education in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year at a state university. In the study data collection tool is used: “Occupational Anxiety Scale for Prospective Teachers”. Independent groups t-test, ANOVA and Kruskall Wallis H test techniques were used for data analysis which was obtained by this study. In the study, it was determined that the occupational anxiety of female teacher candidates was higher than that of males in all sub-dimensions and total scores, except for the task-centered anxiety dimension. On the other hand, there is a significant difference between the 1st and 3rd grades in the dimension of “Student / Communication-Centered Anxiety”. Another important result of the research is that the occupational anxieties of teacher candidates differ significantly according to the department. Regardless of whether there is a significant difference or not, the department with the lowest anxiety level in all the sub-dimensions and total scores mentioned between the departments in the faculty is science teaching. One of the results of the study is that the occupational anxiety scores of teacher candidates do not differ significantly in terms of education status of both mothers and fathers.
