MEKANİK HESAPLAMA YARDIMCILARININ TARİHİ

Year 2025, Issue: 28, 23 - 42, 29.01.2025

Abstract

HISTORY OF MECHANICAL CALCULATION AIDS

Year 2025, Issue: 28, 23 - 42, 29.01.2025

Abstract

Computational technology should be understood here as the subject area that deals with mechanical calculation aids. In historical perspective, it is seen that there are quite a lot of calculation tools, some of them are; fingers, hand, pebble, scoreboard, notch, shell, knotted string, abacus, abacus cloth, abacus skin, abacus penny, abacus book, feather, pen (pencil), paper, chalk, calculating disk, calculating cylinder, number slider, mechanical, electrical, electronic calculating machine, quantum computer etc. Therefore, computational technology is the main subject of technology and mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics. “Calculation technology” refers to the calculation process, manual and mechanical calculation procedure for oral and written calculations, as well as devices. This review study has only dealt with mechanical computing technology tools and equipment.
