coğrafi uzamında, yedi yüzyıl boyunca imparatorluk ve kimlik izleğini ele alan
yazıları içeriyor. Kitap kısa önsöz, derleyenlerin teşekkürü, çevrimyazı ve telaffuz
ile ilgili pusula, her bir makalenin ayrıntılı biçimde özetlendiği giriş, kitabın gövdesini oluşturan makaleler, öğrenciler için hazırlanmış öneri ve sorular, kaynakça
ve bileşik (yer ve özel isim) dizini içeriyor.
