In this study, the abrasive wear resistance of surface hardened AISI 1030 and 1050 plain carbon steel specimens by pack boronizing method at 950 °C for 2, 4 and 6 hours are investigated. The specimens hardened by boronizing and the untreated specimens made of the same kind of steels are experimentally compared in laboratory conditions. The surface hardness values and the observed boride layer thickness are measured. At the end of the study we observed that surface hardness and abrasive wear resistance of boronized AISI 1030 and 1050 steels are much better than the untreated ones.
