/n this sludy. ıhe ıısage of hat gasfrom the cooling unit of Eskişehir Cement
Planı in healing greenhouses was investigaled. The hol gas which has a lemperature of 240 CC
and amass fiow rate of 155000 m /hour gas calculaled lo be able to heat 10 greenhouses with
a base area of 384 m' each byproducing kot \vater gas in a wasîe heat boiler. The cost of the wasîe
heat boller and insulaled pipes ıvere calculated to cost $110700 (4. 65 Billion TL-May 1995) and
(his would be paıd back in six fnonths îhrough îhe energy savings obîained. în calculaîıons the
cost of fhe greenhoKse and producî gain deîaiîs were not considered. The differences between the
greenhmıse opemîions in warm regions arıd those of Eskişehir originatefro m heatmg costs. in this
anide thefeasihjfîty of greenhouse operaîion in colder regions by making use ofwaste hot gases
\vere invesfigated,
