GÜVENLİK İLE BÖLGESEL EKONOMİK İŞBİRLİĞİ ARASINDA: BANGLADEŞ-ÇİN-HİNDİSTAN-MYANMAR (BCIM) EKONOMİK KORİDORU

Abstract

BCIM Ekonomik Koridoru, Çin öncülüğünde yürütülen bir
ekonomik işbirliği çabasıdır. BCIM, altyapı yatırımlarının öne çıktığı bir
girişim olarak görülse de ticari ve kültürel öğeleri de içermektedir. Bu
çalışmada BCIM ekonomik koridoru fikrinin ortaya çıkışı, partner ülkeler
arasındaki iktisadi ilişkiler üzerinde durulmuştur. Koridorun yaşama
geçirilmesi halinde Güney Asya ekonomilerinin kendi içinde bütünleşme düzeyi
artacaktır. Bu gelişme Güney Asya alt-bölgesinin küresel ekonomiye daha güçlü
eklemlenmesi sonucunu da doğuracaktır. BCIM bu potansiyeline karşın, yavaş
ilerleyen, belirgin bir takvimi olmayan bir girişim görünümündedir. Ayrıca BCIM’in
uygulanmasının önünde başta güvenlik endişeleri olmak üzere önemli güçlükler
vardır.
