Radiotherapy is often used in malignant tumors to treat cancer. However, it can rarely be used in benign conditions such as keloid formation and hemangioma. As the life span of patients increases after oncological treatment, oral complications related to treatment may increase. Oral complications that may occur due to radiotherapy; can be seen during and after treatment. Mucositis, bleeding, xerostomia, pain, loss taste can be observed during treatment. Osteoradionecrosis, temporomandibular joint discomfort, trismus, dental demineralization, decays and oral ulcerations can be seen after treatment. It should also be noted that one third of all septicemias in patients are due to oral infections. Dental interventions should be performed quickly and effectively, paying attention to the patients’ medical history, treatment protocol and health status. Although preventive practices such as oral hygiene education, diet regulation, topical fluoride application, prevention of trismus, lip care are the same at every stage of cancer patients, additional applications may be required during the treatment steps.
