Abstract

WHY DO THEY WANT TO GO? A STUDY ON THE IMMIGRATION WILLINGNESS OF GENERATION Z WOMEN
Year 2023,
Issue: 55, 157 - 172, 03.03.2023
Melike Boztilki
Abstract
The willingness of young women of 'Generation Z' living in Turkey on moving abroad are examined in this study. In the study which was carried out with the participation of 561 women between the ages of 18-26, the life satisfaction and personality traits were examined in terms of their effects on willingness to migrate. As a result of the research it was determined that most of the participants wanted to live abroad for a temporary period in order to increase income or to have education. When the situation of women who want to settle permanently abroad is examined it is seen that they have the low life satisfaction in their lives in Turkey and they want to migrate permanently in order to "not face identity discrimination" and "to live freely". As the life satisfaction of young women decreases, their desire to live abroad increases. Evaluating in terms of personality traits high openness increases the willingness to migrate.
