Nekrotizan enterokolit NEK , bağırsakların kısmi veya tam iskemisi ile karakterli önemli bir gastrointestinal hastalıktır. ilk olarak 19. yüzyılda tanımlanmıştır. Tutulum bölgesi sıklıkla terminal ileumdur. İntestinal iskeminin başlamasında tetiği çeken faktörlerin neler olduğu henüz tam açıklık kazanmamıştır; ancak faktörlerin ulaştığı ortak yol intestinal iskemidir 1 .
