Abstract

Abstract

Apitherapy is the use of bees and bee products as complementary and supportive in the treatment of some diseases. Natural products obtained from honey bees such as honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, bee venom, beeswax and apilarnil are some of the apitherapy products. There are many national and international associations and apitherapy centers. Bee products have a variety of anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anticarinogenic, and antibacterial properties due to their diverse pharmacological activity. As a result, it is suggested as a supportive treatment for diseases like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular system disorders, cancer, and musculoskeletal system disorders. Apitherapy products are employed in the treatment of a variety of diseases, as well as in obstetrics and gynecology. Apitherapy products, which are becoming more widely utilized, cannot be said to treat or cure diseases on their own. The purpose of this review is to provide current literature-based information on the use of apitherapy in obstetrics and gynecology.
