Pulmonary rehabilitation and the role of the nurse in COPD patients in a changing world

Öz

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious disease with a high mortality rate characterized by dyspnea, fatigue and decreased exercise tolerance. These symptoms can be successfully treated with pulmonary rehabilitation, a comprehensive intervention and holistic approach designed to improve the physical and psychological status of people with COPD. Nurses, with their multifaceted role in this process, increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation and ensure the active participation of patients in the treatment process. With the new opportunities offered by technology, the role of nurses in this field is expanding and gaining importance. This review examines the development of pulmonary rehabilitation in COPD patients in a changing world and the role of nurses in this process.

Değişen dünyada KOAH hastalarında pulmoner rehabilitasyon ve hemşirenin rolü

Öz

Kronik obstrüktif akciğer hastalığı (KOAH) dispne, yorgunluk, egzersiz toleransında azalmaile karakterize, mortalite oranı yüksek, ciddi bir hastalıktır. Bu belirtiler KOAH'lı kişilerin fiziksel ve psikolojik durumlarını iyileştirmek için tasarlanmış kapsamlı bir müdahale ve bütünsel yaklaşım olan pulmoner rehabilitasyon ile başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edilebilmektedir. Hemşireler, bu süreçteki çok yönlü rolleriyle rehabilitasyonun etkinliğini artırmakta ve hastaların tedavi süreçlerine aktif katılımını sağlamaktadır. Teknolojinin sunduğu yeni imkanlarla birlikte hemşirelerin bu alandaki rolü daha da genişlemekte ve önem kazanmaktadır. Bu derleme, değişen dünyada KOAH hastalarında pulmoner rehabilitasyonun gelişimini ve hemşirenin bu süreçteki rolünü incelemektedir.
