İNTEGRATİF HEMŞİRELİK ve YENİDOĞAN BAKIMINDA İNTEGRATİF HEMŞİRELİĞİN ÖNEMİ

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 3, 1 - 12, 07.01.2020

Abstract

INTEGRATIVE NURSING AND IMPORTANCE OF INTEGRATIVE NURSING IN NEWBORN CARE

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 3, 1 - 12, 07.01.2020

Abstract

Integrative approach is the use of different care practices and products in health care systems than traditional treatment. Integrative nursing, which has the same philosophy, aims to strengthen the bond with the human environment, to use the power of healing nature and reveal of power within the individual. Newborns are the group which we most observe the healing, enhancing and empowering effect of nature. To integrative nursing apply correctly and effectively, the care group needs should be evaluated correctly and the integrative bond should be established correctly. At this point, integrative applications are very important in the newborn period, which is accepted as the beginning of life. Because the neonatal period is a very fragile period to cope with the stress caused by immunologically and external stimuli. Therefore, applications of integrative nursing should be used correctly for newborns. In this study; applications of aromatherapy, music therapy and massage therapy are evaluated in neonatal care by terms of integrative nursing care. It has been seen these applications have positive effects on many variables such as pain, bilirubin level, stress, condition, growth and development, length of hospital stay and physiological indicators of newborns. In order to be used actively in the clinic, integrative applications have to be strengthened by scientific evidence. For that reason, scientific studies combining integrative practices and nursing care philosophy are much needed.
