TRANSATLANTİK TİCARET VE YATIRIM ORTAKLIĞI’NIN AVRUPA BİRLİĞİ VE AMERİKA BİRLEŞİK DEVLETLERİ’NİN REKABET GÜCÜNE MUHTEMEL ETKİLERİ

Abstract

Dünya gayri safi milli hasılasının yarısından fazlasına sahip olan Avrupa Birliği ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, kendi aralarında Transatlantik Ticaret ve Yatırım Ortaklığı adı altında bir serbest ticaret anlaşması tesis etmek üzere, 2011 yılı itibariyle Yüksek Seviyeli Çalışma Grubunu oluşturmuşlar ve bu çalışma grubu tarafından ortaya konulan nihai rapor doğrultusunda 2013 yılı itibariyle müzakereleri başlatmışlardır. 2017 yılında tesis edilmesi planlanan ortaklığın meydana getirilmesindeki temel amaç tarafların rekabet güçlerinin yükseltilmesi ve büyüme hızlarının arttırılmasıdır. Bu çalışmada, uzun dönemde geniş ve kapsamlı bir antlaşma ile ticaret hacimlerini arttırarak küresel rekabet içerisindeki paylarını daha da arttırmayı hedefleyen tarafların bu hedefe yönelik olarak bir araya gelmelerindeki temel nedenler değerlendirilerek meydana getirilecek ortaklığın muhtemel etkileri ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.
