Derginizin yayımlanmış son sayısındaki “Afetlerde Krize Müdahale: Kahramanmaraş Depremi’nde Aile Ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığının Çalışmaları” başlıklı makaleyi ilgiyle okudum (Şahin, 2024). Söz konusu makalenin yazarı Murat Şahin’i, ülkemiz tarihinin en büyük felaketlerinden biri olan 6 Şubat 2023 tarihli Kahramanmaraş merkezli depremlerinin önemli toplumsal-sosyal sonuçlarından bazılarını ortaya koymasından ötürü tebrik ederim. Murat Şahin bu makalesinde, depremzedelerin psikososyal sorunlarının başında barınma ve psikososyal desteğe ulaşma gibi ihtiyaçlar geldiğini bildirmiştir.
“Afetlerde Krize Müdahale: Kahramanmaraş Depremi’nde Aile Ve Sosyal Hizmetler Bakanlığının Çalışmaları” başlıklı makaleye depremden etkilenmiş, depremin psikososyal sonuçlarına yönelik araştırmalar yapmış ve yapmaya devam eden bir akademisyen olarak özellikle barınma ve psikososyal desteğe ulaşma sorunlarının uzun dönem ruhsal etkilerini vurgulamak şeklinde katkıda bulunmak istiyorum.

CRISIS INTERVENTION IN DISASTERS: THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY OF FAMILY AND SOCIAL SERVICES IN THE KAHRAMANMARAŞ EARTHQUAKE

Abstract

Dear Editor,
I read with interest the article titled “Crisis Intervention in Disasters: The Work of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake” in the latest issue of your journal (Şahin, 2024). I congratulate the author of the article, Murat Şahin, for revealing some of the important social and socio-economic outcomes of the Kahramanmaraş earthquake of February 6, 2023, one of the biggest disasters in our country’s history. In this article, Murat Şahin stated that the primary psychosocial problems of earthquake victims were shelter and access to psychosocial support.

As an academic who was affected by the earthquake, conducted research on the psychosocial outcomes of the earthquake and continues to do so, I would like to contribute to the article titled “Crisis Intervention in Disasters: The Work of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake” by emphasizing the long-term psychological effects of problems such as shelter and access to psychosocial support.
