Abstract
The Purpose of the Study: As a new interior architecture approach, it is aimed to convey the design and detailing of the city sections reserved for public space shopping and commerce, and the residences, that is, the personal spaces that are resolved specifically for the user, intertwined with each other, but with the same sensitivity and special solutions without touching the features of each other.
Literature Review/Background: In this context, it has been conveyed with the achievements of a succession of public commercial spaces and residences that people, who are accepted as public spaces, meet their expectations such as shopping, where social activities can be organized, in which they are together, and where people, who are actually a social creature, can reach the necessary needs for their life.
Method: The examples where the office, commercial and residential functions realized by Architects firm were analyzed together, were presented through the answers they gave when asked about their design ideas in their projects during the interviews with the company representatives Mehpare Evrenol and Tamer Tunbiş. These projects, which present the public spaces needed by the city and the citizens with a different perspective by designing them in the same square meter as the residences, set a new example in the settlement of the city. On the basis of privacy, an arrangement is made in which residential areas are as far away from social and commercial life as possible and independent of negative factors such as noise and crowd. However, with this new perspective and analysis, only a simple level difference relationship is established and the two functions are formed in such a way that they do not affect each other negatively.
Results: With this new design approach, users in residences, which are personal spaces, can scan public interior spaces without being involved and follow the movement and the cycle of social life. Within the framework of these relations, the approaches of the two functions designed so close to each other also require similar detail analysis, that is, the concepts and approaches of interior architects. It is seen that the interior architects, who are analyzed and perceived in order to respond to social needs like the public space, are chosen and designed down to the smallest detail, which is like an interior space, that is compatible with the aesthetic concerns of the users in their residences and can offer comfort.
Conclusion: Within the scope of this study, the public spaces used by being transformed in a similar way abroad, and the examples of foreign designs at different elevations that were publicly resolved in the city and presented to the public were examined. The solutions of the commercial center, public space and residences developed with a new perspective in Istanbul and Adapazarı are conveyed with their positive aspects. It is foreseen that the interior architecture profession will set an example for new projects to be designed with the expanded new scale of the designed designs.
