Abstract
The aim of this article is to reveal the types of miracles in terms of their purpose, based on the events that the mufassirs accept as miracles in the Quran. In theological sources, the miracle is generally divided into parts in terms of its structure, and it is stated that its purpose is to prove the prophethood of the person who claims to be a prophet. However, when the extraordinary events mentioned in the Qur'an are examined one by one, it is understood that miracles have a much broader purpose. A miracle is a being in the form of an event. Especially in voluntary events, it is more important why the event occurred rather than what it is.Although the question of why about miracles has been asked in the historical process, it seems that only one answer has been focused on and other answers have been ignored. However, in understanding the miracle and solving some problems related to the miracle, knowing its purpose is as important as knowing its nature and structure. As a qualitative research, this study is fundamental research in terms of its purpose and is a study to form a theory about miracles. In this connection, the extraordinary events in the Quran are examined one by one with the analytical method, and the differences between them are identified and it is revealed that they are divided into nine parts in terms of their purpose.
