The Future of International Trade: Virtual and Augmented Reality Technology

Abstract

Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) technology represents a revolutionary innovation with the potential to transform the dynamics of international trade. Through the capabilities offered by this technology, it is possible to move beyond the restrictive nature of borders, allowing for the modification of physical presence based on demand. The global trade arena is characterized by its ever-changing and evolving structure. In this domain, businesses are in a continuous search for innovative solutions to gain competitive advantages, enhance productivity, reduce costs, and overcome geographical constraints. VR/AR technology emerges as a result of this search, acting as a potential catalyst in the transformation of the global market. This research aims to evaluate the possible impacts of VR/AR technology on international trade, considering both its positive and negative aspects. The primary research method employed is secondary data analysis. Through this methodology, the findings reveal in-depth insights into the potential effects of VR/AR on trade. However, this study has certain limitations. Relying primarily on secondary data may pose constraints on the scope and depth of the findings. This study seeks to provide a comprehensive perspective on the advantages and challenges of VR/AR technology in international trade, aspiring to make a valuable contribution to the existing literature in the field.

ULUSLARARASI TİCARETİN GELECEĞİ: SANAL VE ARTIRILMIŞ GERÇEKLİK TEKNOLOJİSİ

Abstract

Sanal ve Artırılmış Gerçeklik (SG/AG) teknolojisi, uluslararası ticaretin dinamiklerini değiştirme potansiyeline sahip devrim niteliğinde bir yeniliktir. Bu teknolojinin sunduğu olanaklar sayesinde, sınırların kısıtlayıcı doğasının ötesine geçilerek, fiziksel varlığın isteğe bağlı olarak değiştirilmesi mümkün hale gelmiştir. Küresel ticaret arenası, sürekli değişen ve gelişen bir yapıya sahip olup, bu alanda faaliyet gösteren işletmeler, rekabetçi avantaj elde edebilmek, verimliliği artırmak, maliyetleri düşürmek ve coğrafi kısıtlamaları aşmak için sürekli yenilikçi çözümler arayışı içindedir. SG/AG teknolojisi, bu arayışın bir sonucu olarak karşımıza çıkan ve küresel pazarın dönüşümünde katalizör rolü oynayabilecek bir araçtır. Bu araştırma, SG/AG teknolojisinin uluslararası ticaretteki olası etkilerini, olumlu ve olumsuz yönleriyle değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Kullanılan ana araştırma yöntemi, ikincil veri analizi olup, bu metodoloji aracılığıyla elde edilen bulgular, SG/AG'nin ticaret üzerindeki potansiyel etkilerini derinlemesine ortaya koymaktadır. Ancak, bu çalışmanın bazı sınırlılıkları bulunmaktadır. Özellikle ikincil verilere dayalı olması, bazı kapsam ve derinlik sınırlamalarını beraberinde getirebilir. Bu çalışma, uluslararası ticarette SG/AG teknolojisinin olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri hakkında kapsamlı bir perspektif sunarak, alandaki mevcut literatüre değerli bir katkı sağlamayı hedeflemektedir.
