Abstract
Abstract :Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a common cause of congenitalviral infections. While 90% of the infants with congenital CMV are asymptomatic, remaining 10% infants of are symptomatic. The most important symptom is sensorineural hearing loss in asymptomatic congenital CMV. Anti-viral agents are not routin elyrecommended. However, the patients should be followed upwith brainstem auditory evoked response concerning the risk of hearing loss.Newborns with congenital CMV infection should be investigated for hearing loss, be evaluated for antiviral treatment, and carefully monitored for addition alhangdicapan devaluated for rehabilitation. The aim of the present study is to report the results and follow-upperiodin a child diagnosed with CMV enfection.
