Abstract

Abstract
Although fetal ultrasonography is considered a part of prenatal care, it is often recommended to be performed in the first three months. In general, the purpose of examining the fetus with ultrasonography is to provide the most appropriate prenatal care and to determine the early development of the fetus. Down syndrome is the most common chromosomal anomaly in live births and is seen in approximately 1/1000. The main purpose of pregnancy follow-up is to monitor the diseases that may occur in the fetus and to provide genetic counseling to the family regarding these diseases when necessary.
