Abstract
Nondestructive methods for wood materials have been gaining importance for the last decades. Many commercial types of grading equipment are available. In this study, dynamic modulus of elasticity for red pine lumber has been measured using MTG Timber Grader. Dynamic modulus of elasticity values are compared with those which were obtained through three point bending tests. Modulus of elasticity values are classified according to TS EN 338. This classification plays an important role for sawn lumbers used in construction. The relationship between visually graded lumber and strength classes has been presented. Test results indicate that Turkish red pine lumbers can be graded according to modulus of elasticity values obtained using nondestructive method.

Abstract
Ahşap malzeme için tahribatsız muayene yöntemleri son yıllarda önem kazanmaktadır. Bu yöntemleri kullanan ticari birçok kereste sınıflandırma sistemleri geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Avrupa da ticari olarak kullanılan MTG kereste sınıflandırma cihazı kullanılarak kızılçam kerestelerinin dinamik elastikiyet modülü (EM) ölçülmüştür. Bu değerler üç nokta testinden elde edilen statik EM değerleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen EM değerleri kullanılarak keresteler TS EN 338'e göre sınıflandırılmıştır. Yapısal amaçlı kullanılacak kerestelerde bu sınıflandırma işlemi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Görsel olarak ta sınıflandırılan keresteler ile direnç sınıfları arasındaki ilişki de çalışmada ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre kızılçam kerestesi tahribatsız olarak elde edilen elastikiyet modülüne (EM) göre sınıflandırılabilir.
