YAZILI BASIN SINIR ÖTESİNDE: İÇERİĞİN KÂĞITTAN VİDEOYA DÖNÜŞÜMÜ VE GAZETELERİN YOUTUBE PLATFORMUNDAKİ HABERCİLİK DENEYİMLERİ

Abstract

Hem dünyada hem de Türkiye’de yazılı basının temsilcileri dijital iletişim teknolojilerine uyum sağlamanın yollarını aramaktadır. Tarihi bağlamda toplumları ve ilişki biçimlerinin seyrini belirlemiş olan gazeteler, bu sefer okuyucu kitlelerin sosyal ağlara geçişi ile etkilenen konumunda bulunarak okuyucularını takip etmek durumunda kalmışlardır. Günümüzde gazeteler de birer birey gibi sosyal medya ağlarında görünürlüğünü arttırma çabasındadır. Buna bağlı olarak gazetelerin YouTube gibi video temelli bir ortamda yayına başlamaları ise mesleki olarak kâğıttan videoya geçiş olarak da değerlendirilmiştir. Çünkü yazılı basının video temelli bir sosyal medya platformu olan YouTube’da yayıncılık faaliyetlerinde bulunması gazeteciliğin dijital dönüşümüne ilişkin önemli bir aşama olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada matbu olarak da yayına devam eden gazetelerin YouTube kanallarının habercilik pratik ve deneyimleri incelenmiştir. YouTube’da gazetelerin hangi haber konularının izleyici kitlesi (aboneler) tarafından talep edilip onaylandığını (en fazla görüntülendiği) anlamak ve tartışmak bu araştırmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Diğer yandan gazetelerin dijital dönüşümü ve sosyal ağlardaki akışa dahil olmasının altında yatan nedenler sorgulanmış ve tartışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum deseni çerçevesinde ele alınan gazetelerden elde edilen veriler içerik analizine dayalı betimsel analiz tekniği ile irdelenmiştir. Yapılan analizde bireyleri eğlendirecek, insanların ilginç bulduğu veya ideoloji, çatışma ve duygu yoğunluklu video haberlerin daha fazla görüntüleme sayısına ulaştığı anlaşılmıştır. Diğer yandan çoğu ana akım gazetelerin artık YouTube kanalı oluşturduğu ve bu kanallarını birer televizyon gibi kullanmaya çalıştıkları ortaya çıkmıştır.
