A Review on Inter-row Crops Mechanical Weeder

Year 2020, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 200 - 221, 30.06.2020

Abstract

A weed can be thought of as any plant growing in the wrong place at the wrong time and doing more harm than good, Weeding is an important but equally labour intensive agricultural unit operation. There is an increasing interest in the use of mechanical intra-row weeders because of concern over environmental degradation and a growing demand for organically produced food. Today the agricultural sector requires non-chemical weed control that safeguards consumers demand for high quality food products and pay special attention to food safety. Through the technical development of mechanisms for physical weed control, such as precise inter-and intra-row weeders, it might be possible to control weeds. These mechanisms contribute significantly to safe food production, there is a need to review existing mechanical weeders to know their merits and demerit.
