Abstract
The impact of exchange rates on exports has always been discussed. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of exchange rates on the export performance of the leather sector in Uşak province. The monthly exchange rates and leather sector export data for the period 2017-1 and 2021-9 were used. In the study, to analyse the data, ADF and PP Unit Root Tests and Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test were used. According to the results of the analysis; no causal relationship found between leather exports and the exchange rate. So, it can be said, the export performance of the leather sector in Uşak is influenced by factors other than the exchange rate. The study findings show that the impact of exchange rates on exports may vary depending on the sectors. The results provide data that can be used to create policies for all sectors interested in the leather sector.
