The aim of this study is to evaluate the Turkish adhan practice carried out in the single-party period from the perspective of the Islamist press of the period and to reveal the reaction of some press, which adopted the Islamic ideology, against the single-party administration in the context of the Turkish adhan practice. Although many academic studies have been carried out regarding the Turkish adhan practice in the single-party period, these studies have included the development process of the practice and the role and importance of the CHP government in this process. However, it has been determined that the Islamist press, whose quality and quantity were not to be underestimated, and the public opinion it represented, were dissatisfied with the practice of the single-party period, and the criticisms and suggestions directed against the CHP government in this direction were ignored. In this study, which examines the Islamic press of the period between 1947 and 1950, archives, periodicals and the largest Islamic publications of the period were used as the main sources. In this context, it has been observed that all of the aforementioned publications were against the practice of the Turkish adhan or they argued that the Turkish translation of the adhan was wrong.
