Her iki kaya
In this study, the
geomechanical properties of magmatic origin rocks of andesite and monzogranite
composition in Gümüşhane province were determined and empirical relations
between these properties were investigated. As a result of experimental
studies, specific gravity, unit volume
weight, water absorption by weight, water absorption by volume and porosity
values of andesite and monzogranites were determined. For both rocks types, P
and S wave velocity measurements were carried out under dry and saturated
conditions. Depending on these values, dynamic elastic parameters were
confirmed. Mechanical properties such as uniaxial compressive strength, point
load index, indirect tensile strength and elastic parameters such as modulus of
elasticity and Poisson’s ratio values were determined. As a result of the
statistical assessments, the highest correlation coefficient values which are
0.90 in andesites and 0.94 in monzogranites were obtained from the data of the
P and S wave velocity measurements. The lowest correlation coefficient values
were determined between Quartz/Alkaline Feldspar ratio and porosity in
monzogranites. It is predicted that the relations which are statistically
significant and have a high correlation coefficient are important for the study
and that they can be used in the indirect estimation of the related parameters.
