Increasing population, technological developments, and urbanization significantly increase the pressures on water resources, recently. In parallel with the increase in population, the demand for animal products is also increasing. However, when the wastes generated after livestock activities are accumulated under inappropriate conditions, leachate is formed. This leachate can reach water resources and cause pollution in these environments and even become unusable. In this study, animal origin pollution load calculation was made to evaluate the pressure of diffuse pollutant sources in Bursa. In the pollution load calculation, the annual distributed total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) loads were calculated by using the number of bovine (BBH), small ruminant (KBH) and poultry (KH) available in all districts of Bursa in 2020. As a result, it has been determined that the districts with the highest TN and TP distributed pollution loads are Karacabey, Mustafakemalpaşa, Yenişehir, and the districts with the lowest are Yıldırım, Gemlik, Gürsu and Harmancık. In addition, the effects of diffuse pollution loads originating from livestock activities on water resources were evaluated.
