This study aims to monitor the total suspended solids (TSS) transport in the Sera Stream Watershed, where there has been intense sediment transport as well as bedload motion, and assess the effect of sediment storage dams (SSDs) on the transports. The stream water sampling studies were conducted four times a month during a period of six months from June to November 2019 on ten TSS monitoring stations and was determined TSS (mg/L). It was revealed that a part of 16.5% of the TSS concentration could be trapped by SSD1. A major part of 69.4% of the TSS concentration was trapped in the Sera Lake, and the rest part could reach the Black Sea. In a gauging station, namely Derecik, operated in the watershed, the stream water depth monitoring studies were also conducted, and the daily discharge (Q, m3/day) and daily TSS loads (ton/day) were computed. The average daily discharges and TSS loads were computed as 99,000 m3 and 24.6 tons/day in the summer and 83,945 m3 and 2.5 tons/day in the autumn, respectively, for the TSS monitoring and gauging station, located between SSD2 and SSD3. In the watershed, where the fact that the untreated municipal wastewaters have been discharged to the streams, and the rubbles and excavated soils have been illegally dumped on the stream beds cause the TSS to increase artificially, it is a fact that the available SSDs have been inadequate in number as much as they succeed to trap the TSS. It has been concluded that additional SSDs, as well as open check dams, have also been needed on the tributaries located in the upstream part of the watershed having forest lands with a very steep slope.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, sürüntü hareketinin yanı sıra yoğun bir askı hareketinin olduğu Sera Deresi Havzası’nda askıda katı madde (AKM) taşınımını gözlemlemek ve ana kol üzerinde inşa edilen tersip bentlerinin (TB) taşınıma olan etkilerini değerlendirmektir. Havzada seçilen 10 AKM gözlem istasyonundan, Haziran-Kasım 2019 döneminde ayda dört kez olacak şekilde su örnekleri toplanmış ve AKM (mg/L) belirlenmiştir. Havzadaki ilk gözlem istasyonunun mansabında yer alan TB1’in taşınan AKM’nin %16,5’ini tutarak mansaba geçişini engellediği ve Sera Gölü’nde havzadan taşınan AKM’nin %69,4 gibi büyük bir kısmının tutulduğu tespit edilmiştir. Havzada işletilmekte olan Derecik isimli akım gözlem istasyonundan (AGİ) seviye okumaları yapılarak ilgili kesitten geçen debiler (Q, m3) belirlenmiş ve AKM yükleri (ton) hesap edilmiştir. TB2 ile TB3 arasında ve Derecik AGİ’nin hemen mansabında yer alan istasyonda ortalama günlük debiler ve AKM yükleri yazın 99.000 m3/gün ile 24,6 ton/gün ve sonbaharda 83.945 m3/gün ile 2,5 ton/gün olarak hesap edilmiştir. Akarsu yataklarına moloz ve hafriyat dökümünün yanı sıra yerleşim birimlerinden yapılan evsel atık su deşarjlarının da AKM miktarının artışında etken olduğu havzada tersip bentleri sayısal olarak yetersiz kalmaktadır. Çok dik ve sarp eğimli orman arazilerine sahip Sera Deresi Havzası’nın membaındaki yan kollar üzerinde de geçirimsiz tersip bentlerinin yanı sıra geçirimli tersip bentlerine de ihtiyaç duyulduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
