Sheikh Abdurrahman Erzincani built his zawiyah in Zey, a village of Adiyaman, in the 15th century. Donations made by the rulers and philanthropists of the period provided the base for the waqf. In the waqf of Sheikh Abdurrahman Erzincanî Zawiyah – a family waqf- duties such as sheikhism, trusteeship, zaviyedarlik, and mezraadarlik were carried out by the descendants of sheikh Erzincani, until the end of the Ottoman period. Besides two mosques, the waqf served the public with institutions such as zawiyah, nursery school, madrasah and a soup kitchen for the poor. The income of the waqf was spent for the management and maintenance of these institutions, for the salaries of the staff and other related expenses. Waqf of Sheikh Abdurrahman Erzincani was a non-governmental organization serving to the public, thus supporting the state and was supported by it until the end of the Ottoman era.
Şeyh Abdurrahman Erzincanî, zaviyesini 15. yüzyılda Adıyaman’ın Zey köyünde kurmuştur. Vakfın temelini hükümdarlar ve hayırseverler tarafından zaviyeye bağışlanan araziler oluşturmuştur. Şeyh Abdurrahman Erzincanî Zaviyesi Vakfı, soya dayalı bir aile vakfı olduğundan vakfın ve zaviyenin yöneticiliği ile ilgili görevlerden şeyhlik, mütevellilik, zaviyedarlık ve mezraadarlık Osmanlı’nın sonuna kadar Şeyh Abdurrahman Erzincanî evlatlarınca yürütülmüştür. İki camisi ile birlikte zaviyesi, sıbyan mektebi, medresesi ve aşevi ile Şeyh Abdurrahman Erzincanî Zaviyesi vakfı, Adıyaman ve çevresinde topluma yönelik önemli hizmetler gerçekleştirmiştir. Vakfın mülklerinden elde edilen gelir, vakfa bağlı hayrî kurumların idaresine, idamesine, masraflarına ve personel maaşlarına harcanmıştır. Şeyh Abdurrahman Erzincanî Zaviyesi vakfı, kurulmasından Osmanlı Devleti’nin sonuna kadar topluma hizmet veren, devlete destek olan ve devletten destek gören bir sivil toplum kuruluşu olmuştur.

The articles sent to the Journal of Waqfs with a request for publication are subject to preliminary examination by the Editorial Board and at least two academicians who are experts in their fields are sent for review. The copyright of the articles accepted to be published in the Journal of Waqfs with the referee reports and the decision of the Editorial Board is deemed to have been transferred to the General Directorate of Foundations, and a royalty fee is paid to the published articles in accordance with the relevant legislation.
