DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION of SUPPLY CHAIN FUNCTIONS OF INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES

Abstract

Purpose: This study was carried out in order to determine the level at which industrial enterprises dominate the elements of Industry 4.0, to understand the relevance of the effects specified in the literature with the real, and to determine what happened during the adaptation process.

Methodology: Semi-structured face-to-face interviews with the industrial enterprises which were included in the preliminary study list made in February 2019 were conducted online. The interview transcripts, which were analysed by content analysis technique using the phenomenology design as a qualitative research method, were evaluated by coding them in the MAXQDA program.

Findings: Findings such as which of the Industry 4.0 elements are most used by large industrial enterprises, adaptation processes, return on investment have been reached.

Originality: Insufficient number of resources in the literature on the effects of the fourth industrial revolution on industrial enterprises, especially on purchasing and logistics functions, and the opinions of the purchasing and logistics function officials/managers of industrial enterprises that implement Industry 4.0 elements provide the originality of this study.

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma sanayi işletmelerinin Endüstri 4.0 unsurlarına hangi düzeyde hâkim olduğunu belirlemek, literatürde belirtilen etkilerin reel ile ilgisini anlamak ve adaptasyon sürecinde yaşananları tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.

Yöntem: 2019 Şubat ayında yapılan ön çalışma listesinde yer alan sanayi işletmeleriyle çevrim içi olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenoloji deseni kullanılarak içerik analizi tekniğiyle incelenen görüşme deşifreleri MAXQDA programında kodlanarak değerlendirilmiştir.

Bulgular: Büyük sanayi işletmelerinin Endüstri 4.0 unsurlarından en çok hangilerini kullandıkları, adaptasyon süreçleri, yaptıkları yatırımın geri dönüşü başlıklarda bulgulara ulaşılmıştır.

Özgünlük: Literatürde dördüncü sanayi devriminin sanayi işletmelerine, özellikle satın alma ve lojistik fonksiyonlarına etkilerine dair kaynakların sayısının yetersiz olmasına karşın bu çalışmada Endüstri 4.0 unsurlarını uygulayan sanayi işletmelerinin satın alma ve lojistik fonksiyonu yetkili/yöneticilerinin görüşlerinin yer alması bu çalışmanın özgünlüğünü sağlamaktadır.
