Globalization and technological developments around the world cause the economies of countries to evolve. These economic changes increase the interest of individuals in the field of finance. This interest in finance turns into a necessity due to economic development and changes. Therefore, today, financial literacy remains up-to-date as a valuable research topic in terms of both countries and academic research. The study focuses on the concept of financial literacy in the tourism industry. The aim of the study is to determine the financial literacy levels of employees in hotel businesses. In this context, data are obtained from the employees of five-star hotels operating in Turkey and Croatia by survey technique and an intercultural comparison is made. According to the research findings, there is a difference in the level of financial literacy among hotel employees of both nationalities. In the research, the relationships between financial literacy levels and demographic characteristics of hotel employees of each nationality are also revealed. According to this, although there is no difference between the age of the hotel employees and the department they work in, and financial literacy levels, there are relationships between other demographic characteristics and financial literacy.
