Abstract
Climate change affects global food security, food production and supply chain, while significant amount of global population experience food scarcity or cannot get enough nutrition. It is inevitable that natural disasters and epidemics, which affect agricultural production, occur due to the global warming and deteriorated natural balance. By examining the causes and effects of food insecurity and emphasizing importance of food security policies, this study aims to develop an infrastructure for suggestions to increase food security within the scope of the sustainable development, sustainable agriculture and environmental policies. As sustainable agriculture and environmental policies are important elements of sustainable development, they can affect people's welfare and health, countries’ health expenditures, security, agricultural trade and economy. It is becoming increasingly important that the food security and sustainable development relationship to be considered while preparing and implementing sustainable agriculture and environment policies and that this relationship to be considered integrated to the sustainable development policies. The cooperation of countries and food suppliers in providing and supporting food security will play significant role in solving the global food problem, ensuring food security and preventing food waste.
