It can be said that realism, which was effective in Russian literature, was effective in the process towards the Russian Revolution. Because the realism movement confronts people with their own reality. It can be thought that this situation prompts people to act. Early Russian filmmakers followed the same realist line after the Russian Revolution. Realist tendencies in Turkey first began in literature. This situation was reflected in Turkish cinema in the relative freedom environment brought by the 1961 constitution. In this period called realistic Turkish cinema, important films were shot. In our article, the reality presented in village films shot within the frame of this cinema was compared with the village documents of that day. As a method, studies about the cinema in question were examined. Then, a selection of movies from that period was created and these films were watched. The village documents and some newspapers of the period were scanned, and the information obtained from these sites were compared with the findings obtained from reading and watching movies. As a result, it is seen that the reality presented in the movies is close to the reality in the village documents. It was thought that these films could be used as a source to understand that period.
