A group of two handled cups found at Troia are titled as “depas amphikypellon” by H. Schilemann, through their similarities with the vessels mentioned by Homer at Illiad. Depata have been spreaded in a wide geography includes Eastern Aegean Islands, Mainland Greece, Cyclades, Southeastern Europe, Syria as well as Anatolia properly. It’s observed that depas amphykipellon, a well known western Anatolian vessel form produced at least three different regions through their distinctive features. Although there have been a considerable increase in the number of depas due to the increase of investigations that carried out in the last decade. However the museum collections are still constituting the biggest group of depata. In this paper, a group of depata which have been bought by Izmir Archaeology Museum are held out on the basis of comparison with the similar stratified examples for to establish a date for the current material and to determine their produciton centers
