The research aims to determine the effect of hope on psychological well-being and the mediating role of optimism in this relationship. The research covers all individuals living in Antalya province. The questionnaire method, which is widely used in quantitative research, was preferred for data collection. Data were collected between March-June 2023 with the ethics committee permission obtained from Isparta University of Applied Sciences. The Psychological Well-Being Scale developed by Diener et al. (2009) and adapted into Turkish by Telef (2011) and the short form of the Psychological Capital Scale developed by Luthans et al. (2007), short form of which was created by Avey et al. (2011) and adapted into Turkish by Oruç (2018) were used as data collection tools. JAMOVI programme was used to analyse the collected data. The findings of the study showed that being hopeful has a positive effect on psychological well-being and optimism has a partial mediating role in this relationship. In addition, age and having children were found to have an effect on psychological well-being. The results of the research are discussed together with other studies in the literature.
